born in 1984 in Arica, Chile, Thomann studied musical interpretation majoring in viola and business studies with a specialization in business management at the
Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Santiago. She successfully gained degrees in both disciplines. Since 2010 she has been based in Frankfurt. As a viola player she has attended various master classes with Yuri Bashmet at the Accademia Chigiana, Italy.
Dominique Thomann seamlessly uses her talents as a musician to facilitate her interest in bringing an appreciation of the diversity of music to different listeners. Classically trained she is committed to opening-up concert formats, so that classical, contemporary music, folk and pop music can engage in a fruitful dialogue with each other.
During her studies she gained experience in various orchestras and in the realization of music projects and festivals. She is involved in the organizational management of the Chamber Music Festival Sylt and director of Internacional Musica Panguipulli Festival in southern Chile. Since September 2013 she has collaborated with the One Earth Orchestra and in 2015 will join the ensemble's tour through the American continent, which will also travel to her native Chile.
