born in 1978, studied classical accordion at the Cologne Academy of Music, and the Royal Danish Conservatory Copenhagen. She is one of her generation’s most prominent accordionists, and is dedicated to interpreting contemporary music.
As a soloist she has toured the globe, and composers from Japan to Tierra del Fuergo have composed almost 100 “tailor made” works for her. In particular she is interested in combining the accordion with new media.
Eva Zöllner has performed with leading new music ensembles and has appeared in various theatrical and operatic productions (most recently at the Royal Opera House, London). She is a regular guest at international festivals and in concert series. Her interpretations been recorded in numerous radio and CD productions.
Eva Zöllner lives in Hamburg, and leads a nomadic life which enables her to explore her instrument in a wide range of contexts and cultures.
